About
the Association
The Structural Engineers Association
of Texas (SEAoT), the largest and most active Association of registered
structural engineers and allied professionals in Texas, is a non-profit
organization founded in 1983 for the benefit of the structural engineering
community, including structural engineers, university faculty members,
students, and associates involved in the design, fabrication and
construction of structures.
Chapters Across Texas
The Association has six chapters - Austin,
Corpus Christi, El Paso, Houston/Gulf Coast,
North Central Texas and San Antonio. A seventh, Fort Worth Chapter is currently being established, and Structural Engineers in the Fort Worth area are encouraged to to become inauguaral members. Chapters
hold regular meetings at which topics of professional interest are
presented and discussed. In addition, the Association holds an annual
two-day Conference in the Fall. SEAoT members and other structural
engineers are welcome at these meetings.
Membership
Membership offers numerous
benefits to professional structural engineers, as well as the associated
engineering professions, engineering companies, contractors, university
professors, and engineering students. Professional presentations,
technical publications, forums, conferences, advisory meetings with
the State Board of Registered Professional Engineers, and personal
interaction keeps SEAoT members abreast of professional developments,
new technology, legislative issues, changes in code standards and
much more.
Meeting Licencing
Renewal Requirements
SEAoT can really help you meet the Texas Board of
Professional Engineers' license renewal requirements under which
PEs are required to accumulate 15 hours of professional
development hours (PDHs).
As a SEAoT member you will have ample opportunity to meet these
requirements.If you are not yet a member of SEAoT, please consider

The State Board, headquartered
in Austin, meets quarterly and coordinates the Association's activities.
The board consists of elected members and representatives from each
Chapter.
