ANNUAL STATE CONFERENCE - November 6-8, 2008

Minute Maid Park - Houston

Plans are well underway for the 2008 SEAoT State Conference, to be held November 6 - 8, 2008 in Houston. For SEAoT members and other Structural Engineers practicing in Texas , this is a must attend event! Technical sessions will keep you abreast of the latest information, codes and developments within the industry, while also providing you with CEUs to help you meet your licensing requirements. Exhibit and sponsor opportunities allow vendors to reach an enthusiastic audience of Structural Engineers from across Texas, while social and networking opportunities abound throughout the three-day event. In addition, the last day of the Conference (Saturday, November 8) will feature a tour of the new facilities at the Port of Houston.

The Conference is being held at the Minute Maid Park, itself a structurally very interesting facility . (See Spring 2008 SEAoT Newsletter)

Volunteer Opportunities
Arranging and organizing the State Conference takes a considerable amount of time and effort, and the Conference organizers are looking for volunteers to assist on a number of committees including:

  • Meeting Hall
  • Brochures
  • Check in Table
  • Advertising
  • Exhibiting
  • Golf Tournament
  • Speakers
  • Field Trip
  • Financial
  • Spouse/Guest Activities.

We welcome ALL volunteers, but wish to also point out that this is a great opportunity for local companies to send their younger engineers to assist on these committees.
If you are interested in participating, please contact Paul Gugenheim at paul@fiberwrap.com. Current committee members include Lee Walden, Paul Gugenheim, Jesse Allen, Michael Bergeron, Wally Ford, Ron Howard, Paul Morkin, Dennis Paul, Gary Sidwell, Rowdy Westbrook and Robert Wright.
